Movie night: Emma

Loved it. This 1996 version with Gwyneth Paltrow playing the meddling Emma Woodhouse, based on Jane Austen's classic novel, has her surrounded by suitors Mr. Knightley and Frank Churchill, played by Jeremy Northam and Ewan McGregor. Emma spends her time trying to be a matchmaker, while never noticing her own true love. These British accents are kind of hard to follow in the beginning, but soon after the story starts to make sense, it gets easier to understand and enjoy. I've seen this before, but not for a long time, and it was well worth repeating. I give it a 5 out of 5 on my own "Kelly's Movie Review" scale.

Ah, this is a great movie. Great book, too, but if you haven't the time to read it, the movie is a very good representation of the book.

I have just read a couple books... think I'll review for my readers too! Thanks for the idea!
I LOVE this show. <3
I think I saw this. It's been a long time. However, I love movies set in that time period. Thanks for the review. I might have to go and see if I can check it out again!

I like it too, as well as the version with Kate Beckinsale that came out a year or two later. You should see it as well. Compare and contrast.
