Last month when I went to Utah for a few days, I organized a little pot luck get together at my mom's house with my sister, Julie, and her family, my brother, Marc, and his family, my good friend Aimee, and her family, and my mom and stepdad. Here's Julie's daughter, 19-year-old Madison, and Marc's only child, 20-year-old Taylor. I cooked some Mexican pork to serve on crispy corn tortillas, with all the toppings (lettuce, tomato, red onion, cheese, etc.). Here's Austin, Aimee's oldest son, and Julie's girls, Madison and Morgan.
Here's Nathaniel, Taylor, Brinley, and Thomas enjoying their feast at one of the three card tables we set up.
Here's my stepdad, Joe, and my brother, Marc. They were going crazy over Aimee's enchilada casserole and her homemade salsa. Or maybe they were lovin' Julie's awesome salad. Everything was incredibly delicious.
Here's Marc's wife, Penni, who is an amazing cook. She brought an exceptionally yummy layered Mexican dip, and picked up a couple of pies from Marie Callendar's for dessert when I told her I hadn't prepared enough. Thanks for coming to the rescue, Penni!
Here's Aimee and her husband, Jim. Aimee and I have known each other for several years through The Pampered Chef. She's one of the many treasured friends I've gained through my work.
Here's Mom. She's a sweetheart and always supports me in anything and everything I do, including throwing a party at her house. Thanks, Mom!
The boys went out in the backyard to toss the football around after dinner. You can see Mom and Joe's big deluxe motor home parked on the side. It's a gorgeous motor home and a nice way to travel the country, but unfortunately when they bought it brand new a couple years ago, they didn't realize how expensive gas would be today. So basically it stays parked these days. They still like having their home away from home--even if it's only a few feet away.
It started getting a little dark, but the boys still kept going, enjoying the fresh, cool air outside. I love Mom and Joe's big back yard. They have some lovely fruit trees and a spacious green lawn with plush Kentucky bluegrass.
Here's my talented brother-in-law, Tom and his son, Thomas, with Austin in the background.
Morgan and Madison were surfing the web at Grandma's.
We played a game called Handy that Aimee brought. It's kind of like Twister, but you use your hands and hold little balls, with the person next to you, and try to not drop them.
This game was a ball. We had a lot of fun playing it. Thanks, Aimee!
The big table had some other games, but I didn't make it over to those games and I have no idea what they were playing.
Here's Mom and Penni, my sister-in-law.
Heidi's mom, Bobbi, met up with me at Julie's house while we made cards the next day. What an awesome lady she is. Thank you, Bobbi, for coming over. I wish we could have had hours to talk and visit. She had to leave to meet some kind of repairman at her house. I can't remember what...but hope it wasn't as pricey as my new air conditioner was.
