Check out this cheery, colorful layered cake that I saw on Facebook today! I am a sucker for interesting looking food and these bright colors are amazing. Jennie, you should make one like this sometime. The six layers are dramatic in and of itself, then add the purple, turquoise, green, yellow, orange, and dark pink, and VOILA...happiness! On Friday night, I hosted a baby shower for Kristina, whom I serve with in the stake Relief Society presidency. She is expecting her second little girl in December, truly a princess whose name shall be Hannah. Maybe. The evite I sent out had this castle image, so I printed it out, then cut out the castle art, and mounted it on various layers of cardstock and added some bling to create this keepsake card for Kristina. A handful of helpers volunteered to bring appetizers, which made it easy for me to focus on the frills and creating ambiance for the mother-to-be. Here's Kristina, just before we started to partake of the feast. Take note of the appropriate pink sign on the table borrowed from the baby's room that says, "My prince has come and his name is Daddy." Gifts for the little princess Hannah were wonderful and plenty. Erin made this beautiful, top-quality diaper bag. Such amazing talent! W ow! This one w as broken, so I had to eat it. So, so tasty! One day w hile shopping at Macy's, I found a really cute Martha Stewart alphabet cookie cutter set, from A to Z, on clearance, marked down to twenty bucks. W hile I'm a serious baker, I'm not one to bake elaborate sugar cookies, although I'm a big fan. I know someone w ho is though, so I took this darling little set to her doorstep that night. She liked them too! So as a thank you, Jennie said she w ould be happy to w hip up some fancy cookies for me sometime, so I called her the w eek of Lindsey's homecoming, and I couldn't have been more delighted w ith the result. So cute and also incredibly delicious. Thank you, Jennie! I hope you're enjoying the rest of the alphabet cookie cutters too. W oohoo! The W sure looks w onderful.

For several years, I have wanted to host a Valentines dinner party at my house and finally got some interest this year. I kept it to a cozy and manageable group of eight, but it still kept me busy all day. It went really well and here are a few pictures. The floral centerpiece was from my favorite local shop, Lakeline Florist. Michelle and Jim were one of the three couples who attended. She's my son's pediatric dentist. They brought us four bottles of Martinelli's sparkling cider...look out! Things might get a little crazy. Shane and Jenn were also among the guests. They brought me a cheerful bouquet of flowers, something I can always be grateful for. Buddy and Tom also joined the dinner party. Thank you for the very pretty note pad with the black tone on tone cover. Lindsey invited her friend, Jenn, to spend the night and help cook and serve for us. Here are the two kids I met while waiting in line for four hours on Thursday to get tickets to see the Foxboro Hot Tubs in concert that night. The Foxboro Hot Tubs are essentially, Green Day, with my cousin, Billie Joe Armstrong, as the lead singer. Click here to read more about our adventures. Chelsea and Josh were so polite and gracious. Here's the line we waited in all day. It was hot and muggy outside. Here's the front of the line. I ended up getting two parking tickets for $15 each! Here's the tour bus.
