On Friday night, I hosted a baby shower for Kristina, whom I serve with in the stake Relief Society presidency. She is expecting her second little girl in December, truly a princess whose name shall be Hannah. Maybe. The evite I sent out had this castle image, so I printed it out, then cut out the castle art, and mounted it on various layers of cardstock and added some bling to create this keepsake card for Kristina. A handful of helpers volunteered to bring appetizers, which made it easy for me to focus on the frills and creating ambiance for the mother-to-be.
Here's Kristina, just before we started to partake of the feast. Take note of the appropriate pink sign on the table borrowed from the baby's room that says, "My prince has come and his name is Daddy."
Gifts for the little princess Hannah were wonderful and plenty.
Erin made this beautiful, top-quality diaper bag. Such amazing talent!
Erin, Michelle, and Alicia, sit in the background as Kristina opens gifts.
Here's Lorraine and me. I love her. She's been the stake Relief Society president for the past year and I'm blessed to be her first counselor. Kristina, who is a granddaughter to the late Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin, is our secretary. Sarah, the second counselor, was helping her family and couldn't be there with us. On a side note regarding this photo, I had just slapped on a quick splash of my new Almay foundation make-up, new to me, which obviously is a shade too light. Guess I'm not buff toned after all.
Here is Cassandra, who appears as Mary on the evite.
Here is Chaliese, the new mom to Riley, and fairly new Relief Society president in Kristina's ward.
Can't recall the name of the first girl, then there's Julie, then Dierdra.
Newly expecting Michelle, with her son, Nathan, and Sherri are here.
This is Christine, Lorraine's daughter, and Melissa, Lorraine's daughter-in-law, who is lucky to be holding baby Harper, Erin's little newborn. Yes, these Mormon women are doing their part in multiplying and replenishing the earth. Life is good.
Here is Judy, such a lovely woman whom I have enjoyed getting acquainted with in the past few months.
Lorraine again, and Stacey are here.
Erin baked these delightful Pumpkin Pie bites and Chocolate Apple Bites that were fabulously delicious and amazingly gorgeous.
Stacey's hot artichoke dip creation tasted amazing. Those triangle shaped Triscuits were so perfect with it.
Lorraine made these excellent bacon-wrapped dates and some sausage cheese dip with tortilla chips that were both a big hit, very hearty and tasty.
Sherri whipped together a fruit platter which was healthy and refreshing.
Sherri also made these marvelous pot-stickers that went over really well, I kept going back for more.
I bought Jelly Bellies to surround the candles, but since there were a couple of toddlers around, decided to not light them. I chose flavors and colors to match the castle card.
I made some strawberry cupcakes with cream cheese frosting, and cucumber dill canapés.
I'm totally going to make these sometime. They were simply awesome.
