My husband is in California for a conference for the next three days and I just called him to tell him about the news alert I just got. The company he works for just sold the division that he works in, so he won't really know what that means to him. He works with more than one group, so it could go either way. He's very marketable, and had ten job offers to consider when he chose the job here in Austin, so I'm not worried at all. Since then, he's gained a lot of experience and recognition in his field since we came here in 2000. Stand by to see what this means. Should be interesting!
Hopefully this title, Book of Mormon Stories Pool Party , does not sound irreverent, because as an Activity Days leader, I felt compelled to come up with a fun end-of-the-summer event that is also uplifting, and after all, who doesn't love a splash in the pool on a hot day in August? My current church calling, or official role that I volunteer for, allows me to plan two activities each month for girls ages 8 to 11, that will encourage them to learn and live the gospel, serve others, and use the talents Heavenly Father has given them, to learn to do many good things. This year's seminary course of study for high school students is The Book of Mormon, and since I am a huge fan of this inspired book of scripture, I came up with this idea to have each girl show up to my house with a written summary of one of her favorite stories from within its many pages, and share it with the rest of the girls, while outside in our swimsuits near our backyard swimming pool! As each girl shares

So this morning immediately after receiving the email about the acquisition, I called Kelly in his hotel room in California.
Within fifteen minutes, one of his coworkers called home, looking for him. He didn't realize Kelly was traveling this week. So he called Kelly in California and gave him a few more details.
Kelly called me back...and Kelly is part of the acquisition. It's a Taiwanese company, and we're not moving to Taiwan, that's for sure. But I don't know what all entails and neither does Kelly.
I'll keep everyone posted!
Keep us posted. im anxious to hear.
just read Conni's comment...has anyone else moved since we left???
Hang in there... this stuff can be stressful, anxious, sort of exciting - in a weird way, but I know Kelly will land in a good place - most likely staying right where you are!
Acquisitions don't always mean a 100% change.
