I will miss President Hinckley. This is worth watching.

Wow, if you feel like you haven't cried enough, watch this clip.

I am amazed to hear that Glen Beck felt the same way I did upon hearing the news. I had dreaded the day that President Hinckley would leave us. I knew that I would be so upset. But, like Glen, I surprised myself. My very first thought was, "That's wonderful ! He finally is with his wife once again!" Yes, it was a warm feeling.

He will be missed more than words can express, but I wouldn't want it to be any other way. It was time. He had given his all. And then some. It was time for this "good and faithful servant" to return home into the loving arms of his Savior, and his beloved wife Marjorie.

That was so awesome. I didn't react the same way Glenn did, I was bawling my head off for purely selfish reasons of course. I wanted President Hinckley here with us forever! But as the initial shock wore off, the happiness I felt for him prevailed. He is now in a place that we all hope to be in one day.
Thanks for posting that video. Now you know why I am such a HUGE Glenn Beck fan. He has a heart.

Pralines and Dreams

I considered myself to be a decent cook and baker. However, candy making had been unchartered territory until I recently cracked the code of a favorite—chewy Texas Pecan Pralines. Triathlon triumph

Are you kidding me? A triathlon and I have never belonged in the same sentence. It must have been time for something new! (The "BEFORE" race shot, with goggles and swim cap in hand.) What an unforgettable week this was! I actually DID enter my first triathlon, with the goal of simply finishing it. Take note of the emphasis on the word FIRST, because I loved it so much, that you can guarantee that there will be more. It was a blast. Seriously. My friends Lorraine and Robin had trained and signed up to do the event, which was two days ago, on Saturday. The BIG REVEAL!

We LOVE our new pool! There are a couple of problems that need to be fixed, so we're crossing our fingers that they get it done right, and soon, considering we have given them the final check for the balance of the pool, and we don't have any leverage. Three of the waterfalls work. This is the main one and I like the natural look. Below, here's the deep end waterfall, and it's flows nicely. The water sheer like this one, that flows into the shallow beach area, is the fall that is not working. It's frustrating, but hopefully they'll fix it soon. The fountain in the spa is blocked too. Here's the small rock waterfall, which works just great. It took about 18 hours to fill the pool and we practically watched it gallon by gallon. I stayed up all night long, making sure it didn't overflow. We swim in it every day. Last night we went on a midnight swim and it was beautiful. The water temperature is perfect.
