Just hoppin' through....

Hey, Kelly, Kelly, Lindsey, and Christopher! Happy Easter. I hope you like your surprises I left for you. Miss Kelly, your gift from me is that I took a picture (since your camera was sitting on the kitchen table) and added this post to your blog (I know everything, like how to access it). I'm certain that Lindsey is going to love her new Tommy Hilfiger purse, since she showed it to you last week when the two of you were shopping, but it was too expensive (money's no object for me, the Easter Bunny). Christopher seems to be really moving around a lot lately on the track, the treadmill, and his bicycle, so I thought he might enjoy a new Razor scooter. Mr. Kelly, why don't you go ahead and buy that new camera lens for yourself, on me. I've got a lot more people to see....so I better make this quick. Oh, I grabbed a carrot on the way out. Thank you. Have a wonderful day!

E.B.

We decorated hard-boiled eggs today and I made egg salad sandwiches for lunch--I baked the bread too, using freshly ground red wheat from my food storage. Fun times! The kids are excited to have an Easter egg hunt. I like using real eggs for it.

What a cute post from the Easter Bunny! I love it! He was very good to y'all! And you gotta love that money is no object with the Easter Bunny...and Santa Claus! :) I even hear from a few of my friends that the Tooth Fairy is getting more generous. Especially when the dads are in charge of things that evening. ;)

I love it E.b. can you please stop by my house too.

Ha! That was me that pointed out the Tooth Fairy was being more generous. I only got a quarter when I lost teeth, and here Brinley is, making a whopping dollar. It's criminal, I say.
The easter bunny treated you guys right this year! I loved seeing Lindsay using her new purse at church!!

Wow the easter bunny even takes care of the blog. Now that is a great idea. I think that I am going to start expecting more from our holiday gift givers. It sure looks like everyone go something that they would love.

Ah Ha! That explains the camera store question from Mr. Kelly on Sunday. What lens is he going to get?
The E.B. was very good to you this year!
The E.B. "forgot" to come to our house. I think he was too busy getting ready for a talk in church the next day, too...
You are the cutest. You make things so much fun for your family.

Boy, the Easter Bunny sure likes you guys! I'm thinking there must be more than one Easter Bunny, because the one that came to your house sure doesn't come to OUR house ;)

Wow, I think the Easter Bunny must have a rating system on who gets both candy AND gifts. We must have rated low here because we didn't see any Razor scooters or camera lenses! But I sure enjoyed the Daim candy he loaded in some of the eggs. AHH YEA!

I still love the whole egg decorating ritual. Helping the grandchildren means I don't really do any myself, but it is great fun facilitating their creative efforts.

Triathlon triumph

Are you kidding me? A triathlon and I have never belonged in the same sentence. It must have been time for something new! (The "BEFORE" race shot, with goggles and swim cap in hand.) What an unforgettable week this was! I actually DID enter my first triathlon, with the goal of simply finishing it. Take note of the emphasis on the word FIRST, because I loved it so much, that you can guarantee that there will be more. It was a blast. Seriously. My friends Lorraine and Robin had trained and signed up to do the event, which was two days ago, on Saturday. Three days beforehand, I heard about it and basically had a spontaneous urge to join them, so I registered. The only partial preparation ahead of time that I had been doing was cycling in the neighborhood here and there on my mountain bike with some other friends. And doing some micro-laps in our backyard pool. Our friend, Dave, was also there. The three of us women appreciated Dave's encouragement and support, as he's ...

The BIG REVEAL!

We LOVE our new pool! There are a couple of problems that need to be fixed, so we're crossing our fingers that they get it done right, and soon, considering we have given them the final check for the balance of the pool, and we don't have any leverage. Three of the waterfalls work. This is the main one and I like the natural look. Below, here's the deep end waterfall, and it's flows nicely. The water sheer like this one, that flows into the shallow beach area, is the fall that is not working. It's frustrating, but hopefully they'll fix it soon. The fountain in the spa is blocked too. Here's the small rock waterfall, which works just great. It took about 18 hours to fill the pool and we practically watched it gallon by gallon. I stayed up all night long, making sure it didn't overflow. We swim in it every day. Last night we went on a midnight swim and it was beautiful. The water temperature is perfect. I'm extremely thankful that we have our new...

Our new daughter!

This picture was taken at church a few days ago while Kelly was on his way to the US for work this week. We have some wonderful news to share.  We are adopting 7-year-old Yeh Min Yu, who has been in our home off and on the last couple of months.  There's a lot that goes into making this official, dealing with US Homeland Security to arrange for her immigration visa, Taiwan courts and Chinese documents, getting a home study done by a licensed, qualified person, applying for a passport.  You have no idea.  I'll be glad when it's all done, but I couldn't wait to share this bit of joy with everyone.  We will name her Hannah to go on her new US birth certificate.  She's excited and nervous to go to America with us.  She can say more than 100 words in English so far.  Some of her favorite things to say are "small dog, butterfly, apple, pig."  She says it more like pig-uh.  We love her and feel this is one of the reasons we came to Taiwan....
