Pool final stages

Ask and ye shall receive, Chris, here are the updated pictures of our pool! He and Conni have been so sweet and excited for us about our pool. They were actually with Kelly and me (to see the Michael Bublé concert) when we were in the process of deciding what pool company to go with. So here are the latest pictures, taken just moments ago. There's quite a drop off in depth here, so there will not be a lot of pool volleyball for those who plan to stand.
I really miss my deck and can hardly wait to use it again. Not being able to walk outside the back door has been hard. Hopefully next week there will be a new deck so I can actually walk out my kitchen door to the back yard. Also, check out my pretty tile in the pool and spa below. I love the way it turned out.
Below, here's the future deep end--filled with dirty water for now. It's 6.5 feet deep.
They'll just cover all of this construction mess up with concrete and Sundeck.
Here's the view of the pool from the side garage door, next to my office.
Here's the beach area where you can step into the pool and get your feet wet in the area where it's really shadowy.
I'm so excited that it's almost finished. I'm getting really impatient now that I can see how close they are to being done. I will update the pictures when the Pebble Sheen finish is added to the overall bottom of the pool and spa, and when the decking areas are added. Woohooo!

I am surprised each time you post new pics, it is going quite fast. Lucky you. I am excited to see it all tiled and with your new pool furniture on display.

It is a good thing that you decided to start the process when you did, you will have a new pool just in time to beat the real summer heat.

It's looking great. My friend who lives in Dallas has a pool, and they love it. You're going to have a ball once it's all done.

I just got back last night, so I'll have to catch up on all the blog posts I missed. It's so good to be back!

San Antonio temple weekend

Here am I (five months pregnant), with Hannah, Kelly, Lindsey, and Christopher, walking out of the San Antonio temple after our new daughter was sealed to us for time and for all eternity during a special, sacred ceremony, this past Saturday afternoon.  We were happy to have a wonderful group of guests in attendance with us, Kelly's two sisters, Debbie and Brenda, my sister, Julie, Kelly's mom and dad, my mom, my good friends Lorraine and Stewart, Carol and Rick, and one person from our ward, my buddy, Sue. Dinner later that night consisted of a feast at the Salt Lick in Driftwood, Texas, for some incredible pork ribs, cole slaw, and more. We strolled along the Riverwalk to show our visiting family members one of San Antonio's popular tourist spots.  It was a beautiful, windy day, the Saturday following Thanksgiving, in San Antonio.  We tried to find a corner with less wind to blow in our faces.  More photos of the family.  The family, strolling along th...

The BIG REVEAL!

We LOVE our new pool! There are a couple of problems that need to be fixed, so we're crossing our fingers that they get it done right, and soon, considering we have given them the final check for the balance of the pool, and we don't have any leverage. Three of the waterfalls work. This is the main one and I like the natural look. Below, here's the deep end waterfall, and it's flows nicely. The water sheer like this one, that flows into the shallow beach area, is the fall that is not working. It's frustrating, but hopefully they'll fix it soon. The fountain in the spa is blocked too. Here's the small rock waterfall, which works just great. It took about 18 hours to fill the pool and we practically watched it gallon by gallon. I stayed up all night long, making sure it didn't overflow. We swim in it every day. Last night we went on a midnight swim and it was beautiful. The water temperature is perfect. I'm extremely thankful that we have our new...

Our new daughter!

This picture was taken at church a few days ago while Kelly was on his way to the US for work this week. We have some wonderful news to share.  We are adopting 7-year-old Yeh Min Yu, who has been in our home off and on the last couple of months.  There's a lot that goes into making this official, dealing with US Homeland Security to arrange for her immigration visa, Taiwan courts and Chinese documents, getting a home study done by a licensed, qualified person, applying for a passport.  You have no idea.  I'll be glad when it's all done, but I couldn't wait to share this bit of joy with everyone.  We will name her Hannah to go on her new US birth certificate.  She's excited and nervous to go to America with us.  She can say more than 100 words in English so far.  Some of her favorite things to say are "small dog, butterfly, apple, pig."  She says it more like pig-uh.  We love her and feel this is one of the reasons we came to Taiwan....
