Who cares if it doesn't match my kitchen

My old, white Kitchen Aid mixer that I've used and abused for fourteen years has been losing its mojo and I've needed a replacement for several months. From the first time I saw this lovely turquoise Kitchen Aid stand mixer, I knew it was the one for me. It didn't make sense though. Black would. Silver would. White would, but not this one. It didn't matter though, because I {IMPRINTED} with it. For months I tried to deny that I was in love. Every time I walked past it in the department stores, we were drawn together instinctively. I'm certain that my aquamarine steel machine felt the same about me. We were meant to be. My new love joined me yesterday for a future filled with whipping up hours of good, tasty fun. Oh yes, I am happy.

You're funny! I'm right there with you. I hate appliance compliance, I like to be different. I love your new machine! We have the white one but maybe someday when it loses its mojo we can get a fire engine red one or a bright yellow one (I mean they should give us those options don't you think?)

I have two things to say:
1) It matches your blog, and, really, isn't that the important thing?

2) Sounds like you need a kitchen re-do! That's what your heart is telling you.

LOVED the post! You totally made me laugh! I especially loved the "imprinting" part! I wish I could be there to enjoy some of those tasty, yummy treats that you'll be whipping up. :) Happy baking. Nate bought me one of these for Valentines and I was SOOO thrilled, I'd wanted one since we got married. He was a little more traditional with black. I love your torquise one though and it totally suits you. :)

haha cute. I like the comparisson between you and "imprinting" from Twilight. =]
I think it's pretty although it doesn't match our kitchen, it's kind of a nice little splash of color.

Oh that is so cute! I wish I had bought a color one instead of just white. I figured it would last through the kitchen changes, but now I want a fun one!

Oh wow, I am in love with it too. That is a beautiful color. I think you should just re-decorate your kitchen to match it. That is a super cute post and congrats on your new mixer, it puts our white one to shame!!

Last year, I was on a business trip and Jim called me and I was worried becuse of the urgency in his voice. He explained that he saw a Macy's ad for haf off select colors of Kitchen Aid food processors and went over to the mall to check it out. There was only a few left and would I mind it much if it was electric blue. I don't think I have ANY blue in my house at all but half price was the right price! I use it a lot and don't know what I did without it. I also love my kitchen Aid mixer but sadly it is grey.

Wow, how ironic your story is. I have been in a Kitchen Aid mixer delimna for several months now. Mine still has lots of mojo, even after 21 years, but it is a bit small for my brood of 5. So I bought the mac daddy steel grey 14 cup capacity thing thinking it could kneed my dough and whip my cream. Well it's dough kneeding has a bit to be desired and doesnt quite measure up to my Bosch, so I want to go back to the smaller size. But I don't want to go as small as my old one, so I need a new one. So this is the ironic part: Connie, our darling cousin told me a couple years ago she got a purple one. I knew I had to have a purple one one day but I have never seen one. When I went out to her house last month and saw hers... I imprinted!! I thought to myself, I CAN DO PURPLE! I can do it! It makes no difference if it doesn't match a thing in my kitchen, it matches everything in my bedroom! Thanks for sharing your joy.
Oh man, who cares if it matches - its not your oven... I LOVE IT! I only whish i wouldnt have gotten a normal color now!!

Book of Mormon Stories Pool Party!

Hopefully this title, Book of Mormon Stories Pool Party , does not sound irreverent, because as an Activity Days leader, I felt compelled to come up with a fun end-of-the-summer event that is also uplifting, and after all, who doesn't love a splash in the pool on a hot day in August?  My current church calling, or official role that I volunteer for, allows me to plan two activities each month for girls ages 8 to 11, that will encourage them to learn and live the gospel, serve others, and use the talents Heavenly Father has given them, to learn to do many good things.  This year's seminary course of study for high school students is The Book of Mormon, and since I am a huge fan of this inspired book of scripture, I came up with this idea to have each girl show up to my house with a written summary of one of her favorite stories from within its many pages, and share it with the rest of the girls, while outside in our swimsuits near our backyard swimming pool!  As each girl shares

Our new daughter!

This picture was taken at church a few days ago while Kelly was on his way to the US for work this week. We have some wonderful news to share.  We are adopting 7-year-old Yeh Min Yu, who has been in our home off and on the last couple of months.  There's a lot that goes into making this official, dealing with US Homeland Security to arrange for her immigration visa, Taiwan courts and Chinese documents, getting a home study done by a licensed, qualified person, applying for a passport.  You have no idea.  I'll be glad when it's all done, but I couldn't wait to share this bit of joy with everyone.  We will name her Hannah to go on her new US birth certificate.  She's excited and nervous to go to America with us.  She can say more than 100 words in English so far.  Some of her favorite things to say are "small dog, butterfly, apple, pig."  She says it more like pig-uh.  We love her and feel this is one of the reasons we came to Taiwan.  Who would have thoug

Elder Larson to return from Thailand soon

Soon is relative, I suppose. Our son has been away from home more than a year and a half as he has been volunteering as a full-time missionary in the Thailand Bangkok Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since September 14, 2016. He will be home in four months and is working so hard, knowing his time there is winding down. He has been assigned to train Elder Ben Meyer, from Sydney, Australia, as they serve in Ubon, Thailand. Christopher has been there since November. We are very proud of his dedication and hard work. This week in Thailand, the new prophet, President Russell M. Nelson, with his wife, Wendy Nelson, along with one of the Twelve Apostles, Elder Jeffrey R. Holland, and his wife, Patricia Holland, will be on their world ministering tour and be where our son is. The Church members and missionaries in Thailand are very excited and happy for this special visit! I can't wait to hear how it goes, and I look forward to pictures and stories to come.
